Oracle Book

Welcome back in school my group an I are reading a book called Oracle it is a great book.
  • Why did you choose this book?
I chose this book because it captured my interest in how the characters act and what they do in the description
  • Summarise what you have read so far?
There is a boy called Nikko and he saves his baby sister Thetis form his dad because his dad did not want Thetis so he was going to feed her to the wolfs. When they were older they went to visit an old hag at that point Thetis could not speak so the hag healed Thetis and she could speak but she could only speak the truth. As the years passed by one of the workers Orkestres of the high king was sent to get the children for the children were amazing at acrobatics and the king wanted them for amusement.
  • Has the book started off how you thought? Why/why not?
This book has started off how I thought it would because by the description and cover it gave great detail. I could tell where the book was heading.
  • Describe the literacy circle method of reading that we are using this term.
This term in our groups we get assigned roles eg: Discussion director, Connector, Illustrator, Word master, Summariser, and passage picker. We do the work for each role that you have and share back as we share back we write our discussion on a Google slide.
  • How have you found this so far?
This is a great way to read and interact with your classmates because you are not just showing your work and getting it checked off you are discussing how you got the answer and why.
  • What are you looking forward to the most in reading this term? Why?
I am looking forward to participating in all the different roles there are and sharing/discussing what we got.

Have you ever read this book?

  2. Great that you are enjoying literacy circles this term Alexis and enjoying learning from others in your homebase. The novel that Preston mentioned, The Giver, is also a great novel to read. Remember that when you make a word ending in f a plural you remove the f and add ves e.g. wolf becomes wolves.
