Life Education

Hi guys welcome back today I am going to be talking about Life Education.

 Life Education is a big truck that comes round different schools to teach the different year levels new things. My class, the Year 7/8s, were learning about different learning styles and personalities.

 In the first session we got into groups according to our learning style by giving us a few tests and we would go to a certain space in the room and we did a few puzzles and games along the way.

 After we found out what each group was she put a different animal for each group.
There was : The Beavers, The Otters, The Labradors and The Lions.
  • The Beavers were the smart thinkers. They like working in quiet places, likes to plan and does not like noisy places.
  • The Otters are the quick thinkers they like to have fun and are some times noisy.
  • The Labradors: They are the alert thinkers they are smart and think fast. They are also like a peace keeper in a group of people like the glue of the group.
  • The Lions: They are the strong thinkers they are like the leaders for us that like to be leading people.

I found out that I am a Beaver.

This week we got to draw a piece of paper out of a box and that would have a random country on it. With that country you had to do some research about it and write some instructions on a skill or game from that country. Next week we will be picking a type of food and making it then bringing it to school so there will be a whole assortment of food for everyone to try from all over the world but I will only be sharing my instructions maybe next week will be about the food. :) Here is my instructions on how to play Hul Gul: How to play Dutch Hul Gul Materials: *Buttons or any large quantity of small objects. *People to play with ( Any amount of people except by yourself) Gather buttons Give each player 10 buttons Each player places any amount of buttons up to 10 in their hand. Player 1 then holds out their hand face down with the buttons in hand so the other player(s) can’t see. Player 1 now asks another player (Player 2) how many buttons do I have in my hand.

Cross Country

Last week on Thursday my school had cross country. In my age group the year 8s had to run 3km and I came 5th which means I will be going to zones. At 9:00 am the whole school walked down to Walter park to start running, first was the year 8 boys and we finished with the year 6 girls. Everyone ran really well and tried their best I had a lot of fun running and cheering people on. After everyone was super tired and exhausted. Have you ever done cross country if you have how did you do?

Sports Rotations

For the last few weeks every Thursday we have been rotating between 4 sports in our home base's: Cricket, Lawn Bowls, Softball and Korfball. Korfball is a new sport to most of us in class and it is a bit like netball but with a few different rules during game. In Korfball instead the hoops were plastic and taller than the usual hoops. My home base has done all of them except Lawn Bowls and in our next rotation we will be doing that. Have you ever played Korfball before?
