Dance Production

Hi welcome back.
For this term our P.B.L (Project based learning) is Dance! We split into different groups and at the end of the year we are gong to do a performance in our dance groups. Our groups are based on a Maori story here is a video explaining it: Maori Creation

Introduction
For my group we are the God of wild uncultivated plants so far my groups has done 1 dance and is planning the 2nd dance. Our main characters is Ellen and I .For our first dance we start in a line and everyone starts fast walking in a circle around Ellen and I when the beat drops Ellen and I push our arms down and the people around us fall down. Then after that we lift our arms up and raise the others up. After that the people in the circle close in on Ellen and I so Ellen and I run out and do cartwheel across the front and that is our introduction. Scene 8
The next dance is the struggle between the brothers being trapped in between the parents. We are thinking of the parents surrounding the kids in a circle.

For our costumes we are thinking of the girls wearing black leggings with a white shirt painted with vines and leave and probably same with the boys but the boys are wearing masks and the girls are wearing face paint.

This week we got to draw a piece of paper out of a box and that would have a random country on it. With that country you had to do some research about it and write some instructions on a skill or game from that country. Next week we will be picking a type of food and making it then bringing it to school so there will be a whole assortment of food for everyone to try from all over the world but I will only be sharing my instructions maybe next week will be about the food. :) Here is my instructions on how to play Hul Gul: How to play Dutch Hul Gul Materials: *Buttons or any large quantity of small objects. *People to play with ( Any amount of people except by yourself) Gather buttons Give each player 10 buttons Each player places any amount of buttons up to 10 in their hand. Player 1 then holds out their hand face down with the buttons in hand so the other player(s) can’t see. Player 1 now asks another player (Player 2) how many buttons do I have in my hand.

Cross Country

Last week on Thursday my school had cross country. In my age group the year 8s had to run 3km and I came 5th which means I will be going to zones. At 9:00 am the whole school walked down to Walter park to start running, first was the year 8 boys and we finished with the year 6 girls. Everyone ran really well and tried their best I had a lot of fun running and cheering people on. After everyone was super tired and exhausted. Sports Rotations

For the last few weeks every Thursday we have been rotating between 4 sports in our home base's: Cricket, Lawn Bowls, Softball and Korfball. Korfball is a new sport to most of us in class and it is a bit like netball but with a few different rules during game. In Korfball instead the hoops were plastic and taller than the usual hoops. My home base has done all of them except Lawn Bowls and in our next rotation we will be doing that. Have you ever played Korfball before?
