Caritas Challenge Reflection

Hi and welcome back everyone.
Last Friday we did the Caritas Challenge, the Caritas Challenge is when you live 24 hours like the people in Timor-Leste. During the day we did sporty activities/games non stop and we were always moving.

This is me and my friend Anabelle in one of the sessions Dance.

Then as the day went on we started building our shelters out of cardboard we built these shelters from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Around 6:00 we had dinner.

Now was the fun part... at 7:00 when it started to get dark we got our torches out and started playing games in the dark with our torches like: spotlight, hide and seek, go home stay home and more running around. Once we had finished we went back up to the class room and did some reflection time in our books, which is the reflection below. After that we settled down and got ready for bed everyone went to the bathrooms and brushed our teeth then went back to our shelter. We got a little bit of time to chat then at around 9:30 everyone had to go to sleep.

Reflection
1. What does one day of difference for a life time of change mean to you?
It means a lot because for us we only have to do the challenge once but the people of Timor-Leste have to do it everyday and we could change that.

2. What were the challenges during the day and the night?
The challenge during the day would be how tired you would be at the end of it all and not eating enough food. The challenge during the night would be getting to sleep and how cold it would be (or too hot).

3.What do you think of the people of Timor-Leste?
The people in Timor-Leste are great people and survive with what they have and are happy with what they are given.

4.What could you do to help the people of Timor-Leste?
If you see someone on the street tell the City Mission and they will help them. Food drive, sleeping wear, and home supplies.

5.What have you learnt?
I learnt that there is a lot of people out there that need our help, who are suffering for us to have what we have now.

Do you know anything about Timor-Leste?
