Last week a company called attitude came in and talked about puberty. Yes puberty but they also talked to us about relationships and how our emotions can change. Did you know that the first thing that grows I our bodies are our feet and hands. When we are growing up our friendships can change and our relationship with our family can too. Our hormones can get in the way too as we are growing which leads to us being really emotional or angry. We did a few activities like we had to name all the changes that both boys and girls go through and we also watched a video about how much the internet can change a person. Another big thing that can happen to us is that we may compare ourselves to other or think we are not enough, which is when we should learn to love ourselves. Have you ever heard of this company before?

This term we are writing an information report about a country. We got to choose what country to write about and I chose South Korea. First we had to make a plan we have to write 7 paragraphs and a conclusion. We then categorized where each information should go in terms of different paragraphs so it flows better with the help of our teachers. We then found a bunch of information and wrote it in a doc while doing this we had to remember to link where we got the information off so we can credit them at the end. Once we have finished our plan we would then start putting our information we found into structured paragraphs. Last week my hub went to camp! It was sooo fun and we did so many new activities like:  *Raft Build *S/L Orienteering *Search And Rescue *School Led Activity *Archery *Coasteering *High Ropes *Kayak Singles *Kayak Doubles *Out Door Living Something I have Learnt...  In camp is that in almost every activity working together s a crucial key, if it is from being in a team or just moving something heavy together with another person. Some skills I have learnt is basically how to live out doors e.g build a fire, shelter and how to find a lost person. I also learnt how to belay in high ropes. Something I Am Grateful For... Is to even be able to come to this camp and being able to spend time with my peers, teachers and instructors/parents. I am so grateful to have such amazing teachers and parents/instructors to organize and lead this camp so we as students can learn and have fun. This week we got to draw a piece of paper out of a box and that would have a random country on it. With that country you had to do some research about it and write some instructions on a skill or game from that country. Next week we will be picking a type of food and making it then bringing it to school so there will be a whole assortment of food for everyone to try from all over the world but I will only be sharing my instructions maybe next week will be about the food. :) Here is my instructions on how to play Hul Gul: How to play Dutch Hul Gul Materials: *Buttons or any large quantity of small objects. *People to play with ( Any amount of people except by yourself) Gather buttons Give each player 10 buttons Each player places any amount of buttons up to 10 in their hand. This week for my reading workshop we read a book on the Rena Oil and we unpacked what happens in the book. The goal for my workshop is identify some text events and features, and discuss what they makes the reader think about.  Our task for the workshop was to make a copy of a document and fill it out. This term we have been doing some science experiments every Tuesday. So far I have learnt about our heart rates and the water cycle. Here is my water cycle. We learned about evaporation, precipitation, and condensation. Have you heard of the water cycle before?

This week for my reading workshop our goal is to identify several ideas, discuss the author's stance or purpose, and understand the relationships in the text. For the past term we have been taking a Stanford math course which helps us understand math and why we use it. Here is what we learnt. - Having a growth mindset toward math is very important because if you get a math equation wrong then we should never give up and always keep on trying because struggle helps our brain grow. - Math is every where in nature, dance, sport, animals we don't notice how important math can be. - People say that you are either a math person or not but this is not true at all because even if you are not as good at math everyone can improve and become more confident in math. - When it comes to math speed doesn't matter because some of the best mathematicians are slow and take their time working math out. - It is important to communicate with others and share ideas and answers because if there is something you don't understand then by communicating with others they can help you understand what you are struggling with. Last week we worked in out house colour groups and deigned a t-shirt there will be one winning design.. Teachers or peer mediators can give out little cards with their name on it if they were doing something kind. The kids then put it in a jar in out office and at assembly if their name get's pulled out then they win a t-shirt. Here is my group's t-shirt: Have you ever designed a T-shirt before?

This week for R.E we had to pick a company or person that is helping the world and write about them in our P.B.L groups (my group is Anabelle, Olivia, Claudia and I). The company that I chose was The Neonatal Trust they help and support premature babies by giving them an environment where they can grow up to be a healthy kid. Hi and welcome back to the first blog of term 4. This term is all about different cultures. Today we had a shared lunch but the shared lunch was not normal because a few days before that we picked a country name out of a hat and so we had to bring food in from that country. I picked out the country Wales so we got into groups by finding the people that had the same country as you and we discussed what food we would bring. My group decided to bring in pickets and cheese on toast because pickets came from Wales and cheese on toast was a common meal in Wales. Driving Question:   How do we successfully design, build, market and sell a product, that meets the needs of our cultural diverse community?    Our next project for the term is to get into groups of four and come up with something that meets the need of our cultural diverse community. Hi and welcome back. I have already explained the literacy circle in my Oracle blog but in this blog I am going to explain it further. This term we have tried something called literacy circles there are 6 different roles: Discussion director, Connector, Illustrator, Word Master, Passage picker, and Summariser. So far I have done all of them but Discussion director I am doing that next week, the book we are doing this on is Oracle. My favorite role is Summariser and as soon as it was my turn to do Summariser we finished the book which means I got to summarize the whole book. I wrote 6 slides of summarizing. What literacy circle role would you want to do?

Hi guys welcome back today I am going to be talking about Life Education. Life Education is a big truck that comes round different schools to teach the different year levels new things.  My class, the Year 7/8s, were learning about different learning styles and personalities. In the first session we got into groups according to our learning style by giving us a few tests and we would go to a certain space in the room and we did a few puzzles and games along the way. After we found out what each group was she put a different animal for each group. There was : The Beavers, The Otters, The Labradors and The Lions. The Beavers were the smart thinkers. They like working in quiet places, likes to plan and does not like noisy places. The Otters are the quick thinkers they like to have fun and are some times noisy.
